MLA Format: Items in an Anthology in a bibliography entry

 

In citing an item in an anthology, begin with the name of the author (last name first, a comma, then the first name),a period, and then the title of the piece you are citing, followed by a period. (If it's an essay, short story, or a poem, enclose the title in quotation marks. If it was originally published as a book, such as a play or novel, underline it.) After this, type in the title of the anthology, making sure to underline it. Next put the abbreviation that pertains to the function of the person who edited and/or translated the work (Trans. and/or Ed.), and the name of the translator or editor, typing their first name followed by their last name, and then a period. This should be followed by the city of publication, a colon, thename of the publisher, a comma and then the year of publication and a period. The final entry should be the page numbers of the entire piece.
