CENTRAL IDEA STATEMENT: The Portrait, Date, and Mint Mark are three characteristics of Coins.

INTRODUCTION

  1. It is your turn….Countless hours, research, gathering data….
  2. Same process as the US Mint for design of coins
  3. Collecting coins for over 20 years
  4. Today I would like to share with you the characteristics of the portrait, date, and mint mark

(TRANSITION: Lets begin with the Portrait)

BODY

    1. Policy change 1964
    2. Congress approved 1964 for 1965 and 1966
    3. 1967 coins return to date of minting
    4. Great deal of thought is placed in Date format and Style
    5. Date determined, Mold is prepared
